March_24_7 is the full story. It's the information that usually gets left out.
If you have ever watched a college basketball game in February, you've probably seen a segment where an "expert" uses minimal data filtered intentionally in order to make a predetermined point. It usually goes one of two ways:
"Team A has a record of X, an RPI of Y, and good wins over B & C. They should get a bid"
OR
"Team A has a record of X, an RPI of Y and a bad loss to B. They have a lot of work left to do"
If you are like me, you've probably seen your favorite team's season summarized this way. Odds are, you probably wanted to throw a shoe at the TV as you yelled, "What about...?!?!" A basketball season is a complex thing, and when TV commentators try to make things super simple, they don't do any of us any favors.
March_24_7 is the place to find thoughtful analysis, not just drive-by tidbits. Feel free to question what you read here. If you convince me that I'm wrong, I'll admit it. More likely, I'll just bring more ammo to back up what I originally said. Either way, this site is for nerds who like to dig down past the surface. I like college basketball and I like numbers. If you do too, you should enjoy March_24_7!
